Choghadiya Today in Auckland
Today’s choghadiya for Auckland, New Zealand, worked out from Auckland’s own sunrise and sunset in New Zealand time (NZST and NZDT) (Pacific/Auckland). Auckland’s Hindu life stretches from the Bharatiya Mandir and the South Asian shops of Sandringham Road to the Mount Roskill area and South Auckland temples in Papatoetoe, Ōtāhuhu, Māngere and Papakura. Auckland’s clock runs 6 hours 30 minutes to 7 hours 30 minutes ahead of India’s, so some festivals fall a day later here than in India.

Why a date can differ: a tithi (lunar day) begins at the same instant everywhere on earth, but a festival is kept on the local day when its tithi holds at the right moment, such as sunrise or moonrise. Auckland keeps a different clock from India, so that moment can land on a different calendar day here. For festivals not listed, see the festival calendar.
