Choghadiya Today in London
Today’s choghadiya for London, England, worked out from London’s own sunrise and sunset in UK time (Europe/London). London’s Hindu life is centred on Harrow and Brent, the two boroughs with the highest Hindu shares in the 2021 Census and home to Neasden Temple, with Tamil temples such as the London Sri Murugan Temple in Manor Park serving East London. London’s clock runs 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours 30 minutes behind India’s, so some festivals fall a day earlier here than in India.

Why a date can differ: a tithi (lunar day) begins at the same instant everywhere on earth, but a festival is kept on the local day when its tithi holds at the right moment, such as sunrise or moonrise. London keeps a different clock from India, so that moment can land on a different calendar day here. For festivals not listed, see the festival calendar.
