The Story of Bhuvaneshwari

Bhuvaneshwari, the fourth Mahavidya, is the sovereign of the bhuvanas, all the worlds, the Divine Mother whose very body is the manifest universe. Gentle and radiant, she holds the noose and goad and grants boons and fearlessness.

She is the boundless space, the womb of all that exists, in whom the worlds appear like images in a vast and luminous sky.

The Meaning

Bhuvaneshwari teaches that the entire cosmos is the body of the Mother, and that all space is filled with her loving presence. She is the spaciousness in which all things arise, vast, accommodating and free, and she bestows the freedom of that limitless awareness.
