Tenth Avatar of Vishnu · Dashavatar
Kalkiकल्कि
The avatar yet to come, who will end the age of darkness and renew dharma.
ॐ कल्किने नमःThe Story of Kalki
It is said that in the final stretch of Kali Yuga, our present age, dharma will wear thin, and truth, compassion and right conduct will grow rare in the world.
When that darkness is deepest, Lord Vishnu will descend a final time as Kalki, a radiant warrior riding a swift white horse and bearing a blazing sword.
He will sweep away what has grown corrupt and rekindle righteousness, bringing this great cycle to its close and opening the dawn of a new age of truth, the Satya Yuga.
The Meaning
Kalki, the tenth and future Dashavatar, is the promise that dharma can never be lost forever. The story assures the devotee that however dark the times, the divine will come again to renew the world. Kalki stands at the turning of the ages, a sign of hope held out across the longest night.
