Brahmacharini is the Goddess as the serene ascetic, who once performed centuries of severe penance to win Lord Shiva as her Lord. Clad in white, she holds a rosary and a water-pot, the very image of devotion and self-discipline.
On the second night of Navratri she is honoured for her tapasya, the unwavering practice through which the soul draws near to the divine.
The Meaning
Brahmacharini embodies devotion, patience and the power of penance. She teaches that steadfast practice and inner discipline are the path to grace, and that the seeker who endures attains the Lord.
