Austin Hindu Temple and Community Center
The Austin American-Statesman, reprinted by Hinduism Today, reported ground broken in February 2005 on 76 acres in eastern Travis County for Austin’s 11,000 Hindu families and the official opening on 11 February 2007 before more than 1,000 people, on more than 70 acres near the Travis County Exposition Center, as the first traditional Hindu temple in Austin; the temple’s site calls it a volunteer-run centre serving multiple Hindu traditions, now closing at 8:30 PM, with a Navaratri concert on 16 October 2026, Saraswathi Puja and Bathukamma Panduga on 17 October and Mata Ki Chowki on 18 October.
Chinmaya Sundaram (Sri Soma Sundareswara Temple, Chinmaya Mission Austin)
Chinmaya Mission Austin, established in 1988, inaugurated its Chinmaya Sundaram facility in 2014 with Swami Tejomayananda; the campus houses the Sri Soma Sundareswara Temple with regular pujas and festivals, Bala Vihar and Shishu Vihar classes for children, satsangs and language classes, and a Lakeway chapter.
Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple of Austin
The temple’s guide lists aarati of about 20 minutes at 7:30 AM, noon, 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM daily, sung in Marathi and a little later on Thursday nights, the busiest of the week, when devotees pour milk abhishekam over small Baba idols during the Rudram and bhajans run from 7:30 to 8:00 PM; its Sai Baba idol is an exact replica of Shirdi’s, half an inch shorter, the meditation hall keeps the first idol from the temple’s days in a Cedar Park shopping mall, and 1 January is its busiest day.
Hare Krishna Temple of Austin (ISKCON Cedar Park)
The temple’s site lists a Sunday Feast every week from 11:15 AM to 2:00 PM with kirtan, sloka recitation, a Bhagavad Gita class, arati and free vegetarian prasadam, Gita Aashraya discussions on Mondays at 7:30 PM, and a new temple project open to sponsors.
ISKCON Austin
Its Visit page invites newcomers to the Sunday programme with kirtan from 11:00 AM, a Bhagavad Gita talk and questions from 11:40 AM and the closing aarti at 12:30 PM followed by a free vegetarian feast, with greeters on hand and no dress code required.
