Sri Lakshmi Temple (New England Hindu Temple, Inc.)
The temple’s history says its founders chose Goddess Sri Lakshmi as presiding deity on August 12, 1978, acquired about twelve acres in Ashland in 1981 and held the temple’s grand opening ceremony on September 6, 1986.
ISKCON Boston (New Gundica)
ISKCON Boston says Srila Prabhupada first set foot on Western soil at Boston’s Commonwealth Pier in 1965, and that in Boston he began the worship of one of the very few Sri Sri Radha Krishna deity forms he personally installed.
BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (Boston)
Hinduism Today reported in September 2002 that BAPS bought the 50 Stedman St building in Lowell’s Black Brook Industrial Park for $1.5 million and opened its temple hall there.
Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Boston (ISSO)
Acharya Shree Koshalendraprasadji performed the Murti Pratishtha of the temple at 1705 Middlesex Street on August 20, 2006; the mandir says local satsang began in 1987.
Sri Chinmaya Maruti Temple (Chinmaya Mission Boston)
Chinmaya Mission Boston inaugurated the centre on June 13, 2003, when Swami Tejomayananda presided over the installation of the white marble idol of Lord Maruti.
New England Siva Temple (Parvati Parameshwara Temple)
The temple says it was founded by Pandit Bhavanarayana Dendukuri on the Advaita Vedanta principles of Adi Shankaracharya, and its gallery records a Sthira (Prana) Pratishtha ceremony in 2025.
Boston Sri Kalikambal Shiva Temple
The temple announced its move from 15 North Main Street to 870 South Main Street in Bellingham, with a Maha Kumbhabhishekam and Prana Pratishtha set for Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Shri Dwarkamai Vidyapeeth (Shirdi Sai Baba Temple)
Inaugurated on Dussehra, October 16, 2010; Dwarkamai says it was the first temple to bring a life-size (6-foot marble) Shirdi Sai Baba murti to the Boston area.
New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar (Shirdi Sai Temple)
Registered as a nonprofit in 2006 and first ran a temple in Dracut; its milestone list records a 28-acre site identified in 2013, construction from 2015 and a Grand Inauguration in 2017.
Sree Vijaya Kali Ashram (Sri Siddha Lalitha Peetham)
The ashram’s own site lists Sharad Navaratri and Durga Puja, Diwali Kali Puja, and a Sri Jagannath and Tara Ratha Yatra among its observances.
