BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir
BAPS records the ground-breaking in April 1990 and the murti pratishtha on 26 November 1998 by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the day before his 78th birthday; the same page notes Swaminarayan’s meeting with Sir John Malcolm at Rajkot’s Kothi Compound on 26 February 1830.
ISKCON Rajkot
ISKCON News reports the new temple opened over Rama Navami from 12 to 14 April 2019, with the official inauguration on 14 April, fulfilling a project begun with a Bhumi Puja in 2007 by the late Mahavishnu Swami.
Khodaldham
Gujarat Tourism places it 65 km from Rajkot near Kagvad in Jetpur taluka, dedicated to Khodiyar Mata, the patron deity of the Leuva Patel community, with the foundation stone laid on 21 January 2011 and the Prana Pratishtha festival held from 17 to 21 January 2017 over a complex of about three and a half lakh square metres; the trust’s own site counts 650 statues from the mandovar to the summit and lists darshan from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Jalaram Mandir, Virpur
Gujarat Tourism says Jalaram Bapa was born at Virpur on 14 November 1799, a week after Diwali, and that the shrine is the house complex where he lived, holding his belongings and the deities of Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman that he worshipped.
Ghela Somnath Mahadev Temple
The Rajkot district site lists it as a historical temple in Jasdan taluka, about 80 km from Rajkot’s central bus stand and 82 km from the airport.
Shri Ramkrishna Ashram
The district site describes it as an ashram and temple in the centre of the city on Dr. Yagnik Road, with a meditation hall, a library and a hospital on the campus; Gujarat Tourism lists a permanent exhibition on the life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhans, an Ayurvedic centre, morning aarti at 5 AM and evening puja at 7:30 PM.
Shri Bhuvaneshwari Mandir and Aushadhashram
Gujarat Tourism records the Aushadhashram as founded in 1910 by Gondal’s royal physician, still making ayurvedic medicines, with a temple to the goddess Bhuvaneshwari built on the site in 1945 that it describes as a Shaktipeeth; visiting hours 9 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 5 PM, Tuesday to Saturday.

- BAPS records that Lord Swaminarayan met Sir John Malcolm, then Governor of Bombay, at the Kothi Compound in Rajkot on 26 February 1830, and that the sanstha’s Rajkot presence began with a small mandir to Akshar and Purushottam. (BAPS)
